RX24 Gold Aluminum Housed Resistors – Finned Power Wirewound Resistors for Braking & Pre-Charge

2026-10-21

RX24 gold aluminum housed resistor is a compact power wirewound resistor. Its golden appearance comes from anodized 6063 aluminum alloy with cooling fins, not gold material. Compared with cement resistors, it provides superior thermal dissipation, vibration resistance and mechanical protection. Compared with enamel tubular wirewound resistors, it can be mounted on heat sinks for higher power density.Guangdong Qingda supplies standard inductive and non-inductive RX24 series. Global and Hong Kong orders are handled by Qingda Industrial Co., Limited with compliance documents and cross-border delivery.

Construction & Manufacturing

High-purity alumina ceramic tube as core skeleton. Nichrome / Constantan / Manganin alloy wire is precisely wound. Thermally conductive insulating compound fills the gap between core and aluminum shell for fast heat transfer. The finned 6063 aluminum housing is gold anodized. Termination options include screw terminals, solder lugs and high-temperature leads.

Comparison:

  • RX24 Gold aluminum housed: wirewound core + potting + finned shell, mountable on heat sink

  • Enamel tubular wirewound: axial lead for PCB, limited heat capacity

  • Cement wirewound: low cost, poor thermal performance

  • RI80 glass glaze: dedicated for high voltage bleed, not for heavy power dissipation

Key Features

  • Finned aluminum housing for excellent heat dissipation, high power density

  • Strong short pulse overload withstand for braking and pre-charge

  • Inductive or Ayrton‑Perry non-inductive winding to meet switching pulse requirements

  • Fully potted rugged construction, vibration & moisture resistant for harsh industrial environments

  • Bottom mounting holes for chassis installation, flexible terminal styles

  • Wide operating temperature: -55℃ ~ +275℃

Important note: Even non-inductive wirewound versions retain residual inductance, not suitable for GHz RF circuits. Power derating is mandatory. Surface temperature can reach high levels, insulation protection is required.

  2. One-stop BOM supply, bundled with wirewound, glass glaze, MELF, metal film, RF microwave and manganin shunt resistors.

  3. Dual-entity cross-border service: manufacturing in Zhuhai factory; Hong Kong delivery and global trade via Qingda Industrial Co., Limited with FOB/CIF terms, RoHS & MSDS documents.

  4. Thermal design support, help select inductive / non-inductive types and define proper derating.

FAQ

Q: Is the gold shell made of gold?A: No, it is 6063 aluminum alloy with gold anodizing for corrosion resistance and marking.Q: Gold aluminum vs cement wirewound resistor?A: Gold aluminum for continuous high power and vibration environments; cement resistor for low-cost intermittent duty.Q: Can non-inductive aluminum resistors be used for RF?A: Not recommended due to residual wirewound inductance. Dedicated RF thin-film resistors are required.Q: Hong Kong delivery available?A: Yes, arranged via Qingda Industrial Co., Limited.Q: Is a heat sink compulsory?A: Derating is required for free-air operation; heat sink is recommended for full-power continuous working.
